Eleby has 6 TDs, Western Michigan holds off CMU 52-44

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Kaleb Eleby threw 3 of his 5 landing passes to D’Wayne Eskridge, L. a.’Darius Jefferson ran for 150 yards and Western Michigan held off Central Michigan 52-44 on Wednesday evening.

Western Michigan (Three-Zero, Three-Zero Mid-American Convention) has sole ownership of first position within the East Department, and is Three-Zero within the MAC for simply the 6th time since 2000.

Eleby was once 12 of 20 for 382 yards passing and likewise had a Four-yard landing run. Eskridge completed with 4 catches for 212 yards. Jaylen Corridor had 4 receptions for 110 yards with two touchdowns. Sean Tyler added 94 yards speeding with a 6-yard TD.

Eleby and Eskridge attached on rankings from 33 yards within the first part, and from 72 and 85 yards within the 3rd quarter that stretched the Broncos’ result in 45-22 early within the 3rd quarter.

Kobe Lewis broke free for a 69-yard landing run to drag the Chippewas to 45-30. Eleby’s 43-yard landing cross to a wide-open Corridor early within the fourth made it 52-30.

Daniel Richardson’s Four-yard TD cross to Drayton Legislation for Central Michigan (2-1, 2-1) capped the scoring with 2:32 to play. Eskridge recovered the following onside kick.

Lewis had 114 yards speeding with two touchdowns for the Chippewas. Kalil Pimpleton added 108 yards at the flooring with 3 touchdowns.

Western Michigan had 628 yards of offense and Central Michigan completed with 406.
