From 2013: Recording life, seven years at a time

British filmmaker Michael Apted, who died on January 7, 2021 at age 79, used to be absolute best identified for his groundbreaking “7 Up” collection of documentaries that includes a cohort of London schoolchildren, interviewing them at seven-year periods all the way through the direction in their lives. On this January 6, 2013 tale, “Sunday Morning” correspondent Lee Cowan talked with Apted (and a few of his topics) about what become his existence’s paintings – a dwelling report of humanity probing the fun and disappointment of rising up.
