Olympic steeplechase champion Conseslus Kipruto of Kenya has been charged with having sexual sex with a 15-year-old lady
NAIROBI, Kenya — Olympic steeplechase champion Conseslus Kipruto of Kenya has been charged with having sexual sex with a 15-year-old lady and was once launched on bail Monday after pleading now not responsible.
Kipruto was once charged with what’s known as “defilement” in Kenyan regulation — sexual sex with a minor underneath the age of 18. On account of the lady’s age, Kipruto faces a minimum of 20 years in jail if convicted, in keeping with Kenya’s sexual offenses regulations.
The 25-year-old Kipruto, who’s a policeman, was once charged in a courthouse in Kapsabet, a the city within the high-altitude Rift Valley area this is well-known for generating a circulate of world-class distance runners. He wore a pink sweatshirt with the hood pulled up over his head in an try to disguise his face from photographers on the courthouse. He was once launched on $1,800 bail.
Kipruto is said to have had sex with the lady on Oct. 20 and 21, in keeping with the rate sheet, and was once first arrested on Nov. 11. Kenyan media reported that the lady had disappeared from her house and had stayed at Kipruto’s space for 3 days.
He hasn’t competed this season. He withdrew from the Diamond League meet in Monaco in August after trying out certain for the coronavirus.
