Phoenix Mercury edge Las Vegas Aces in Game 5 thriller to reach WNBA Finals

The Phoenix Mercury rallied from a 10-point deficit within the 3rd quarter to win 87-84 over the Las Vegas Aces on Friday night time within the deciding Recreation Five of the WNBA semifinals.

The fifth-seeded Mercury advance to the best-of-Five WNBA Finals for the primary time since 2014. They’re going to host the sixth-seeded Chicago Sky in Recreation 1 on Sunday. Phoenix swept Chicago Three-Zero within the 2014 Finals.

Chelsea Grey made two loose throws at 2:27, bumping the Aces result in 4 (81-77).

Brittney Griner scored down low for the Mercury, then Kelsey Plum misplaced the ball out of bounds at 1:57. Griner hit a 16-footer for a tie at 81.

Liz Cambage ignored two tries beneath for the Aces, the primary on a block via Diana Taurasi, then Taurasi hit a Three-pointer at 1:12, giving the Mercury an 84-81 lead.
