Mark Sanchez, to the delight over everyone on Twitter who’s not a Redskins fan, made his return to the field Monday night after Colt McCoy left with a season-ending injury.
And it didn’t take long for Sanchez to delight those on social media because this happened: The ol’ butt fumble … recovery!
The original Butt Fumble, of course, became one of the NFL’s most infamous plays when Sanchez ran into his own offensive lineman on a Thanksgiving night game against the New England Patriots in 2012. On that play he lost the ball in comical fashion and watched the Patriots take it back to the house.
Sanchez being involved in a butt fumble recovery Monday night didn’t go unnoticed by Twitter:
Sadly for Sanchez, his a laugh fumble restoration got here in some other loss for the Redskins.
