NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Xavier Gipson stuck two landing passes and scored on a punt go back to guide Stephen F. Austin to a 31-12 victory over Department-II member Angelo State on Saturday night time.

Gipson completed with 5 receptions for 177 yards. His 37-yard punt go back for a landing helped the Lumberjacks construct a 14-10 halftime lead.

Trae Self used to be 11 of 27 for 197 yards passing, and threw landing passes of 90 and 76 yards to Gipson. Da’Leon Ward had a Nine-yard landing run early within the fourth quarter for the Lumberjacks (2-Three).

Zach Bronkhorst threw an Eight-yard landing cross to Cason Brown for Angelo State. Alfred Grear scored on a 38-yard landing run halfway during the 3rd quarter.
